About the team:
Chris and Alison Burns moved to France from the UK in 2002. Over the last 12 years they have built up and now run a small holiday complex in Languedoc-Roussillon. In the winter Chris, formerly a gas engineer, renovates and upgrades the property, while Alison writes and teaches English . In November 2013 they made a trip to Nepal and returned home determined to help alleviate some of the poverty they had witnessed. Nepal Remote Villages Trust is the result. Mark Gallant, ACMA, CGMA, is a qualified accountant based in Ipswich, Suffolk. He is making his time and expertise available to Nepalrvt as treasurer and main UK contact. Pasang Tamang is a qualified trekking guide based in Kathmandu, Nepal. He has first-hand knowledge of most of the country and is supporting Nepalrvt in their initiative to help villagers in the Khotang region where he grew up. Himal Tamang is the founder and managing director of Visit Himalaya Treks. Together with Pasang he will be organising the Nepali side of Nepal Remote Villages Trust.
Joe Wheatley: Joe works for Cancer Research UK, Oxford. He has travelled widely in Nepal and in 2011 completed the Everest Base Camp Trek in aid of children's health charity Sparks. He is now coordinating our UK fundraising. Charis Wheatley: Currently Communicatons Assistant with the heart charity The Atrial Fibrillation, Charis previously worked as an intern at Oxfam GB campaigning and fundraising.
