Nepalrvt Expedition to Jaleshwari, Khotang, December 2015
We arrived in Kathmandu on 26th November and were met by NRVT trustee Pasang who escorted us to the comfortable Holy Himalaya Hotel in the popular Thamel district. The hotel had kindly offered us a charity rate for the length of our stay.
Jubu village was our stop at the end of our first day of challenging walking. We were warmly welcomed at the High School and handed over some volleyballs and pens from NRVT.

Goat Farm: Nepalrvt is in the process of buying this piece of land in Dolpu, lower Jaleshwari to establish a goat farm. This would create a resource and some employment for the community. Goats could then be donated directly from the farm and eventually profits could be used to ensure local children have access to education through assistance with uniforms, books, and school and exam fees.
Establishing a fund which schools can apply to for resources is something Nepalrvt would like to do in the near future.
Shree Simile High School, which we visited as we were leaving Dolpu, is very under-resourced and warmly welcomed NRVT donations of Calculators, pens, books and volley balls and nets. The doctor at Jaleshwari Health Post was equally very pleased to receive medical supplies collected by students from Lycée JB Dumas, Alès, France. (Photos below) |
